Dance of Cloud and Cliff

by Stephen Lyman

Why should you buy Dance of Cloud and Cliff? This is perhaps Stephen Lyman’s most perfect painting of Yosemite National Park—indeed, it is perhaps the finest painting of Yosemite you will ever see. Stephen Lyman knew the trails—both charted and uncharted—and terrain of Yosemite as well the lines in his own palm. His magnificent depiction of Half Dome captures the grandeur of the landscape the way that no photograph ever could.

“I saw Yosemite’s Half Dome, caressed by gossamer clouds and bathed in the fleeting alpenglow,” said Lyman. “Can words convey this mountain drama? This is why I paint the wilderness.”

Stephen Lyman’s romance with Yosemite lasted a lifetime. The countless sunsets he spent clambering around its slopes and valleys left him with an understanding of the park and a reverence for the land that will never be duplicated. If any painting by an artist can be called a self-portrait, Dance of Cloud and Cliff is truly a self-portrait of this artist and his great, abiding spirit.

The Eucalyptus Coast

by June Carey

“The first time I saw the northern California coast and the sweeps of green hills plunging down to the Pacific Ocean, I felt it was too beautiful to be real,” says June Carey.

“Just north of San Francisco, there are still places as unspoiled as this farm. As soon as the winter rains end, the green grasses turn golden brown. In between the grazing lands like this are forests of oak, cypress and eucalyptus. The eucalyptuses are a beautiful part of our relatively young history here. They have thrived and grown large against the powerful cold winds that blow off the Pacific waters. Like people, with their many textures, moods and colors, they are a tribute to the character, strength and spirit of survival in the West.”

At 54 inches wide, this expansive June Carey landscape will provide any room with a breathtaking view of the California coast. Be one of the few to own this stunning scene of California as The Eucalyptus Coast is available in an extremely limited edition of 50.
